Steps to Complete the Entrepreneur Program File

  • Apply for a visa and conduct a research trip
  • Prepare a business plan
  • Submit the business plan and initial applicant information
  • Receive provincial nomination invitation
  • Document evaluation by provincial assessor
  • Final review of documents by provincial immigration office
  • Receive provincial acceptance letter
  • Apply for a two-year work visa
  • Start the business
  • Submit application for provincial endorsement
  • Receive provincial endorsement and submit documents to obtain Canadian permanent residence

Manitoba Entrepreneur Program Requirements

  • Ownership percentage: 33.33%
  • Company management experience: 3 years within the last 5 years
  • Senior management experience: 3 years within the last 5 years
  • Minimum language proficiency: CLB 5
  • Minimum education: High school diploma
  • Age requirement: 25-49 years
  • Investment in provincial capital: 250,000 CAD
  • Investment outside provincial capital: 150,000 CAD
  • Minimum net worth: 500,000 CAD
  • Permanent residence or work visa upon entry: Work visa

British Columbia Entrepreneur Program Requirements

  • Ownership percentage: 33%
  • Company management experience: More than 3 years
  • Senior management experience: More than 4 years
  • Minimum language proficiency: CLB 4
  • Minimum education: Associate degree or 100% ownership in company for 3 of last 5 years
  • Age requirement: Minimum 25 years
  • Investment in provincial capital: 200,000 CAD
  • Investment outside provincial capital: 100,000 CAD
  • Minimum net worth: 600,000 CAD
  • Permanent residence or work visa upon entry: Work visa

Nova Scotia Entrepreneur Program Requirements

  • Ownership percentage: 33%
  • Company management experience: 3 years in the last 10 years
  • Senior management experience: More than 5 years in the last 10 years
  • Minimum language proficiency: CLB 5
  • Minimum education: High school diploma
  • Age requirement: Minimum 25 years
  • Investment in provincial capital: 150,000 CAD
  • Investment in small towns: 100,000 CAD
  • Minimum net worth: 600,000 CAD (300,000 CAD in small towns)
  • Permanent residence or work visa upon entry: Work visa

New Brunswick Entrepreneur Program Requirements

  • Ownership percentage: 33%
  • Company management experience: 3 years in the last 5 years
  • Senior management experience: Entire last 5 years
  • Minimum language proficiency: CLB 5
  • Minimum education: Associate degree
  • Age requirement: 22-55 years
  • Investment in provincial capital: 250,000 CAD
  • Investment outside provincial capital: 250,000 CAD
  • Minimum net worth: 600,000 CAD (300,000 CAD must be in liquid assets)
  • Permanent residence or work visa upon entry: Permanent residence

Prince Edward Island Entrepreneur Program Requirements

  • Ownership percentage: 20%-50%
  • Company management experience: 3 years within last 5 years
  • Senior management experience: 3 years within last 5 years and owning 20% of the company
  • Minimum language proficiency: CLB 4
  • Minimum education: High school diploma
  • Age requirement: 21-59 years
  • Investment in provincial capital: 150,000 CAD + 75,000 CAD fee
  • Investment outside provincial capital: 150,000 CAD + 75,000 CAD fee
  • Minimum net worth: 600,000 CAD
  • Permanent residence or work visa upon entry: Work visa

Saskatchewan Entrepreneur Program Requirements

  • Ownership percentage: 33%
  • Company management experience: 3 years in the last 10 years
  • Senior management experience: 3 years in the last 10 years
  • Minimum language proficiency: CLB 4
  • Minimum education: High school diploma
  • Age requirement: 21-54 years
  • Investment in provincial capital: 300,000 CAD
  • Investment outside provincial capital: 200,000 CAD
  • Minimum net worth: 500,000 CAD
  • Permanent residence or work visa upon entry: Work visa
